The Lost Boys 2: The Tribe

Published by aemilyl24 at 4:10 pm under Movie Reviews Edit This

So, I just finished watching “The Lost Boys [2]: The Tribe”, which is a movie.  It’s a sequel to “The Lost Boys” in 1987.  Let me just say that the first one was so much better.  Kiefer Sutherland was a much better vampire than his half-brother Angus Sutherland (who is the main vampire, not gonna tell who the head is because that would spoil the movie, in this second one).  The story line was also kind of terrible, it’s about this brother and sister whose parents died and are going to be living with their Aunt, then they both go to a party, and that’s where the story actually starts.  Angus Sutherland plays Shane who Nicole (the sister) meets at the party, and they are both into each other, while Chris (the brother) is being very protective of his sister. This film has a horrible plot-line, and not very good acting.  It just seems like any other horrible vampire movie.  The special effects are not even that good either.  The first movie, even though it was done in 1987, seemed to have much cooler vampire goodness and special effects.

Edgar Frog (who is played by Corey Feldmen), the character from the 1987 Lost Boys film, returns, and is one of the only good things about this movie.  He makes the movie remind you of the 1987 movie.  Otherwise, the film does not really seem like a sequel at all, just another stupid vampire movie, that is full of gore, and sex. For me, the first movie was a lot more entertaining, and a lot more fun to watch. The vampires in the first movie were much scarier as well as more mysterious, and so much better than the vampires in this one.  Another bright spot in this otherwise stupid film is Chris, who is played by Tad Hilgenbrink.  He seems to bea good actor, one of the only ones besides Corey Feldmen.

Please feel free to make your own opinions of this movie, but if it was up to me, go see the cult classic 1987 Lost Boys.  It’s so much better than this one.  To find out more about this movie, go to: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1031254/ .

Stars: I give this film 1 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have been debating on watching this movie but since as with most movies the second one is crap I think i will stick with just watching the original over and over again. I really loved the orignal.
